Rihanna has promised her UK fans she will be fine to play despite her rib injury.

The 'Russian Roulette’ singer damaged her side during a recent show in Zurich, Switzerland, but she is feeling good and her ribs are on the mend.

She told the London Evening Standard newspaper: 'I've had a few injuries, and one thing made another worse.

'Eventually, I had to have it checked out. My ribs are still hurting, but I will be raring to go by London.'

Rihanna, 21, was originally treated for the ailment at the Hirslanden private clinic.

Florence & The Machine, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Dizzee Rascal, Pendulum and Cheryl Cole will all perform at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Bangor, on 22 and 23 May.

Chris Moyles unveiled the line-up of over 30 UK and international artists who will be playing on the two main stages during his show, with a bit of help from fellow Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe.

Other artists include Scouting for Girls, Biffy Clyro, JLS, the Lostprophets, Kids in Glass Houses and Marina & The Diamonds.

BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend is the station's flagship event and the UK's biggest free ticketed festival. Around 40,000 fans can enjoy performances from four stages in Vaynol Estate - the Main Stage; the In New Music We Trust Stage; the Outdoor Stage and the BBC Introducing Stage.

For listeners tuning in there will also be exclusive Live Lounge sessions broadcast from backstage.

The 'Rude Boy' singer was rushed to the accident and emergency department of the Hirslanden private clinic in Switzerland on Monday night (19.04.10) after hurting herself during her sell-out concert at the Hallenstadion venue, in Zurich.

The 22-year-old star’s publicist has now revealed Rihanna only "went to have it looked at to be sure it was nothing serious' and insists everything is now 'OK, and the tour is going great'.

Rihanna - who was discharged from the hospital two-and-a-half hours after being admitted – was able to continue on the European leg of her 'Last Girl on Earth' tour and is now heading to Germany for a show in Frankfurt on Friday (23.04.10) before playing in Oberhausen on Sunday (25.04.10).

The singer was apparently taken to a private clinic in Zuric just after midnight, where she was treated for an undisclosed condition.

The incident followed a sold-out performance at the Hallenstadion venue.

Alenka Ambroz, head of the clinic's corporate communications, said: "Rihanna arrived at the accident and emergency unit. We're not going to give any details."

According to The Sun, Rihanna left the hospital just over two-and-a-half hours after her admission.

She was well enough to continue her tour in Lyon, France last night (April 20).
